Col. William Davidson

"He was a son of John Davidson and first cousin of Gen. Wm. Davidson, who succeeded Griffith Rutherford in the generalship....Col. Davidson was brother of the Samuel Davidson who was killed by the Indians in 1781-2 at the head of the Swannanoa river, and was the first representative of Buncombe country in the State Senate, taking a prominent part in the preparations made by the North Carolinians for the Battle of Kings Mountain....(1914.
