Kenilworth Inn (Asheville, N.C.)
Description The Kenilworth Inn is Asheville's largest Tudor Style revival building.  James Madison Chiles, a prominent Asheville developer, built the inn in 1918 as a luxury hotel catering to well-to-do visitors drawn to the area's fashionable health and recreational attractions.  Later it was used as a convalescent hospital by the United States military during the two world wars and as Appalachian Hall, a mental health facility during the 1930s and early 1940s.
