 Glen Rock Hotel

From:Western North Carolina R.R. Scenery, "Land of the Sky", UNCA Special Collections

The Glen Rock Hotel was located in close proximity to the Asheville Depot. During the great flood of 1916 the hotel and the surrounding buildings were severely damaged. The hotel figured prominently in advertising for the Southern Railway and other railroad promotional literature. Built in a modified and simple Queen Ann style, the large 3-story wooden structure was an Asheville landmark until its destruction.
