CAROLINA DAY SCHOOL

Founded 1936
Location: Carolina Day School
1345 Hendersonville Road
Asheville, NC 28803
Founded as Asheville Country Day School in 1936 by local interested citizens who were seeking a "better high school preparation for their children," the school was first housed on Victoria Road and later combined with another school, the Hazeltine School, and relocated on Merrimon Avenue. Soon the school outgrew its location and built a new campus on Hendersonville Road, now the present location. The Hendersonville campus was opened in 1958 with 149 student enrolled.
