| "This school for training girls and boys in the practical things of life is situated near Brevard, and was started in 1895. Besides the ordinary academic subjects and special religious training, the pupils are taught a dread of debt, promptness in attending to business obligations of every part, a love of thoroughness and accuracy in doing work of every sort, self-control in the expenditure of money, and a knowledge of simple business transactions.
